358 Modified Power Rankings

1. Duane Howard #4
Duane broke through with that first win on Saturday night. He did it in dramatic fashion coming from the 24th starting spot. With Howard having a 450-point lead on second place in the points it is now safe to say that unless this team has a couple of bad weeks the field is racing for second.

2. Ryan Godown #357
Ryan secured another top five finish on Saturday night and moved up one spot in the points to fifth. It’s interesting watching this car every week and how much more consistent that Ryan has become this season as opposed to last season. Good week for the Hansell operation.

3. Jeff Strunk #41 (+1)
Jeff did not have a good Saturday night this past weekend. After not qualifying in the heat race and having to start deep in the pack for the feature he made contact with the outside boiler plate twice in the race and was relegated to a 21st place result.

4. Doug Manmiller #14 (+1)
This BMS team looks as if they have things headed in the right direction. Doug has finished seventh in each of the last two feature events and gained valuable points on second place Jeff Strunk with his misfortunes. It’s hard to believe that Doug has not won a points race since ‘07.

5. Craig Von Dohren #1C (-2)
The misfortunes just continue for CVD. After posting two wins in three races the last two features have resulted in a DNQ and then a 28th place finish on Saturday. Von Dohren was a victim of circumstance in the lap one wreck that essentially eliminated him from competition.

6. Ray Swinehart #33 (+2)
From watching Ray this season we can honestly say that he has one of the fastest cars on the track week-in and week-out. This is definitely a team that will be hitting victory lane this season and with the money races in the future this will definitely be one of the teams to watch.

7. John Willman #74W (+3)
John is always one of those drivers that just sneaks under the radar. Check out the point standings. Willman has posted four straight top tens, including one top five, and moved up another spot in the points to fourth. It is great to see this team having so much success in 2010.

8. Meme DeSantis #88D (-2)
Meme rounded up a fifth place finish on Saturday night and moved himself up four spots in the points to seventh. Meme has had a real quiet, but mostly consistent season. If they can get a win shortly that would definitely help with some motivation in the 88D camp.

9. Jon Kellner #20 (NR)
The results have not shown it this season, but this team has been a contender for race wins and top fives almost every week at Grandview. Misfortunes have bitten this team a lot this season, but the second place effort on Saturday proves this team’s strength.

10. Billy Pauch Jr. #11 (NR)
Since the two top fives that Billy secured to open up the season this team has just had awful luck. On the upside, however, a top five finish last weekend and then a thirteenth on Saturday night at least keeps the team within arm’s reach of a top-paying points spot.
